The Head of State familiarized himself with the activities of the Aktau Marine North Terminal. Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev was briefed on the work of the Northern Terminal by Mr. Kanat Alpysbayev, President of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC. – At the port of Aktau-Kuryk we see a stable growth until 2020, which allows us to provide transshipment of all types of cargo, – said Kanat Alpysbaev.

Nursultan Nazarbayev was greeted by employees of the terminal. Addressing the staff, the President said that he visits the port on every visit to Mangistau.
– The port is the western gate of the country. It is impossible to imagine Kazakhstan without the port,” the head of the republic said. Two years ago, the Head of State gave a start to the launch of the Aktau marine northern terminal. On the area of 39.4 hectares, which is part of the Free Economic Zone “Seaport Aktau”, up to 5,000 containers (TEU) and up to 170,000 tons of general cargo can be stored at a time. Production capacity of the modern multipurpose terminal allows to provide annual transshipment of up to 3 million tons of general cargo and 1.5 million tons of grain crops, including. The cost of the project is 37.5 billion tenge. At the moment the terminal receives and sends grain, metal, containers and general cargo, conducts loading and unloading of railcars and is engaged in complex servicing of ships. As of today, the company employs 190 residents of Mangistau region. The project to expand the port in the northern direction has become one of the largest projects of this kind in the Caspian Sea. The cost of the project amounted to about 37.5 billion tenge. The project was the second largest investment in Kazakhstan. Nursultan Nazarbayev also met with the staff of the enterprise.
– Within the framework of the regional program “Zhaa Serpin”, developed by the Akimat of Mangistau region in order to reduce tension in the labor market and support the residents of the region in employment, 27 people were trained for the terminal.
