Geography of operations

The Northern Terminal is a component of the TRACECA and North-South international transport corridors providing access to the ports of the Caspian, Black Sea-Mediterranean and Baltic basins, the Persian Gulf countries and South-East Asia.

Cargo transportation from the North Terminal is mainly carried out in the direction of the ports of Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan.

Currently, Aktau Marine North Terminal is an important segment within the established transport and logistics operator, which manages the main transportation assets of Kazakhstan, such as sea and dry ports, TLCs, airports, allowing to provide a full range of multimodal transport and logistics services.

Uniform implementation of transport logistics management of the country represented by NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC should increase the flexibility of all links of the transport chain and will allow integration into the global transport network, including the involvement of major players – recognized transporters with a worldwide reputation. Also, the railway company, including segments of the port and shipping company will be able to coordinate all cargo flows, organizing optimal synchronization of the work of different transport, which is also important for the success and competitiveness of the project, including the development of transit.

In general, further plans of Aktau Marine North Terminal are aimed at increasing the company’s production efficiency under the existing competition and fluctuations in the cargo transportation market. According to medium-term forecasts, the main cargoes handled through the North Terminal will be rolled ferrous metals, grain, transit cargoes from China, the Urals regions of Russia and the Persian Gulf countries. As part of its own marketing policy, the company is constantly working to diversify cargo transportation and attract new cargo flows.

At the moment we have already signed contracts with the largest steel producers such as OJSC MMK and JSC ArcelorMittal Temirtau.

At the same time, the existing grain transshipment complex has already allowed the grain transshipment of the largest trading companies of the Republic of Kazakhstan in full volume.
